Job description The Green Ridge Dental team is looking for a competent dental assistant who will make our practice more efficient and pleasant. Our office is growing, and we need to grow our team to ensure excellent patient care. Responsibilities Welcome patients in the dental office Select and set up instruments, equipment and materials needed Sterilize instruments according to regulations Assist the dentist in 4-handed dentistry Undertake lab tasks as instructed Provide oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions Keep the dental treatment area clean and well-stocked Schedule appointments Skills Experience as dental assistant preferred Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methods Understanding of health & safety regulations Ability to perform regulated non-surgical tasks Good computer skills Excellent communication and people skills Well-organized and reliable High school diploma

Schedule:
8 hour shift Monday to Friday Ability to commute/relocate: San Angelo, TX 76904: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
Experience:
Dental assisting: 1 year (Required) Intraoral camera and scanner (preferred)
License/Certification:
X-Ray Certification (Required)

Responsibilities:
  • Assist the dentist during dental procedures
  • Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments
  • Take and develop dental x-rays
  • Provide patient education on oral hygiene and post-operative care
  • Perform dental charting and maintain accurate patient records
  • Assist with medical coding and billing procedures
  • Conduct patient assessments and record vital signs
  • Provide chairside assistance during dental procedures
  • Perform basic laboratory procedures, such as pouring models and fabricating temporary crowns
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of a dental assistant program or relevant certification
  • Knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and instruments
  • Experience working with pediatric patients is a plus
  • Proficiency in using electronic health record systems (Epic)
  • Familiarity with computer-assisted design (CAD) software for dental restorations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
