Job Description
Overview Join a dynamic dental team as a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA), where your expertise will directly contribute to providing exceptional patient care in a fast-paced, friendly environment. As an integral part of our practice, you will support dentists in delivering comprehensive dental treatments, ensuring smooth clinical operations, and maintaining the highest standards of infection control and clinical confidentiality. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to grow your skills in general and pediatric dentistry while working with advanced dental technology and EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems. Responsibilities Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry, utilizing four-handed dentistry techniques to optimize efficiency. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing and organizing dental instruments and ensuring all equipment complies with infection prevention management and aseptic techniques. Take and develop dental X-rays, including dental X-ray imaging and 3D scans using advanced digital imaging technology, while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy. Manage patient medical records and documentation accurately within EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft, including medical coding and recording vital signs. Provide excellent chairside assisting by explaining procedures using dental terminology, taking vital signs, and ensuring patient comfort throughout their visit. Support the dental reception process by scheduling appointments, updating medical documentation, and managing patient flow efficiently. Maintain clinical confidentiality policies at all times while ensuring compliance with healthcare infection prevention and control standards. Skills Proficiency in EMR systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic for accurate medical documentation and record keeping. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to general dentistry and pediatrics. Experience with dental sterilization procedures, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques to ensure a safe clinical environment. Skilled in dental instrument processing, X-ray techniques including dental X-ray imaging, and operating 3D scanners for advanced diagnostics. Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently during various procedures like oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Familiarity with healthcare infection prevention protocols and medical documentation standards aligned with HIPAA compliance. Excellent communication skills suitable for working with diverse patient populations including children; experience as a dental receptionist is a plus.
