Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic dental team as a Dental Office Receptionist and Dental Assistant, where your energy and dedication will help create a welcoming environment for patients while supporting efficient clinic operations. This role offers an exciting opportunity to blend front desk responsibilities with clinical support, ensuring smooth patient experiences from check-in to treatment completion. You'll be instrumental in managing patient interactions, scheduling appointments, and assisting with dental procedures, all while maintaining the highest standards of confidentiality and professionalism. Responsibilities Greet patients warmly, verify insurance coverage, and handle patient check-in and check-out processes with excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills. Schedule appointments efficiently using dental practice management software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, coordinating with clinical staff to optimize daily workflows. Verify insurance benefits, process claims, and perform medical collection activities in compliance with HIPAA regulations and insurance guidelines. Assist dentists during procedures by preparing instruments, taking x-rays, and ensuring patient comfort throughout treatments. Maintain accurate dental records, update electronic health records (EHR systems) like Meditech or eClinicalWorks, and review documentation for completeness and accuracy. Manage multi-line phone systems, handle appointment rescheduling, and respond promptly to patient inquiries via phone or email. Support administrative tasks such as filing medical records, managing office supplies, and performing data entry with proficiency in Microsoft Office and 10-key typing. Ensure compliance with HIPAA standards by safeguarding patient information during documentation review and data handling. Assist in billing processes including medical coding (CPT, ICD-9/10), insurance verification, and follow-up on unpaid accounts to support revenue cycle management. Experience Prior experience working in a dental clinic or medical office environment is highly preferred; familiarity with dental terminology and clinical procedures is a plus. Demonstrated proficiency in EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or similar platforms like Athenahealth or Carestream is essential. Strong knowledge of medical billing, coding (ICD-10/ICD-9), insurance verification, and medical collection procedures. Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel), along with experience using dental practice management software like Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Bilingual abilities are advantageous to serve diverse patient populations effectively. Proven ability to handle administrative support tasks such as filing, documentation review, appointment scheduling, and front desk operations efficiently.
