Duties Prepare hygiene rooms and sterilize dental instruments in accordance with infection prevention management and aseptic techniques. Take and develop dental x-rays and medical imaging to support accurate diagnosis and treatment planning. Manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Dentrix , ensuring compliance with HIPAA and clinical confidentiality policies. Measure vital signs and medical documentation to monitor patient health status before procedures. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, treatment plans, and post-operative care to enhance patient management and satisfaction. Handle dental instrument processing, sterilization procedures, and dental equipment maintenance to uphold infection control standards. Support the dental receptionist by scheduling appointments, managing patient flow with patient management software, and ensuring a smooth clinic operation. Qualifications Valid certification as a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) . Proven experience in dental assisting within a busy dental clinic environment, preferably with pediatric dentistry experience. Proficiency in EMR systems such as Dentrix; familiarity with patient management software is highly desirable. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry. Skilled in dental x-ray techniques and familiar with dental equipment including 3D scanners when applicable. Strong understanding of infection prevention management, aseptic techniques, and sterilization procedures. Excellent communication skills to effectively educate patients and collaborate with team members. Ability to perform chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques efficiently.
