Job Description

Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Dental Assistant to join our team at our South Ogden and Farr West locations. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a crucial role in assisting the dentist during dental procedures and providing exceptional patient care. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced dental practice and contribute to the oral health and well-being of our patients.
Responsibilities:
  • Assist the dentist during dental procedures, ensuring the comfort and safety of patients
  • Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations and procedures
  • Take and record vital signs, medical history, and dental charting
  • Perform dental assisting duties such as handing instruments to the dentist and suctioning
  • Take dental x-rays and perform dental cleanings
  • Provide post-operative instructions to patients for proper oral care
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical documentation in electronic health records systems (Open Dental)
  • Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a clean and sterile environment
  • Assist with scheduling appointments and managing patient records
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Completion of an accredited dental assisting program preferred
  • Current certification in dental assisting preferred
  • Proficient with computers
  • Knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and instruments
  • Familiarity with infection control protocols in a dental setting
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with patients of all ages, including pediatrics
