Job Description
Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Dental Assistant to join our team at our South Ogden and Farr West locations. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a crucial role in assisting the dentist during dental procedures and providing exceptional patient care. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced dental practice and contribute to the oral health and well-being of our patients.Responsibilities:
- Assist the dentist during dental procedures, ensuring the comfort and safety of patients
- Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations and procedures
- Take and record vital signs, medical history, and dental charting
- Perform dental assisting duties such as handing instruments to the dentist and suctioning
- Take dental x-rays and perform dental cleanings
- Provide post-operative instructions to patients for proper oral care
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical documentation in electronic health records systems (Open Dental)
- Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a clean and sterile environment
- Assist with scheduling appointments and managing patient records
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Completion of an accredited dental assisting program preferred
- Current certification in dental assisting preferred
- Proficient with computers
- Knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and instruments
- Familiarity with infection control protocols in a dental setting
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with patients of all ages, including pediatrics
