Overview Join our dynamic dental team as a Dental Assistant and play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and supporting our clinical operations. You will assist dentists during various treatments, ensure smooth clinic workflows, and uphold the highest standards of infection control and confidentiality. Duties Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing and organizing dental instruments and equipment according to infection prevention management protocols. Assist dentists during procedures such as oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry with chairside support and four-handed dentistry techniques. Take and develop dental x-rays and 3D scans using advanced medical imaging technology while maintaining strict adherence to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy. Manage patient flow by greeting patients, updating medical records, recording vital signs, and ensuring accurate medical documentation in electronic medical record (EMR) systems like Dentrix or Eaglesoft. Provide patient care by explaining procedures, answering questions about dental terminology, and ensuring comfort throughout visits. Support dental sterilization procedures by following strict aseptic techniques and ensuring all dental instruments are properly processed for reuse. Maintain clinical confidentiality policies while managing patient management software and ensuring compliance with healthcare infection prevention standards. Qualifications Proven experience working as a Dental Assistant or in a similar dental clinic setting with knowledge of general dentistry practices. Proficiency with EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft; familiarity with patient management software is highly desirable. Strong understanding of dental terminology, equipment operation, and dental instrument processing protocols. Knowledge of infection control practices including aseptic technique and healthcare infection prevention standards. Ability to perform X-ray procedures accurately while adhering to safety guidelines; experience with dental x-ray equipment is preferred. Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members including dental receptionists and healthcare professionals. Certification in radiography or X-ray technology is preferred; additional certifications in pediatric dentistry or oral surgery are a plus.
