Duties Assist dentists during various procedures, including general dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry, ensuring smooth clinical operations Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing dental instruments and equipment according to infection prevention management and aseptic techniques Take and develop dental x-rays and 3D scans while adhering to dental sterilization procedures and radiation safety standards Manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or similar software, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations Perform chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance procedure efficiency and patient comfort Monitor vital signs and assist with medical imaging or other health assessments as needed for comprehensive patient care Support patient management by explaining procedures, answering questions about dental terminology, and ensuring a positive experience from check-in to check-out Skills Proficiency in dental assisting techniques including dental instrument processing, dental sterilization procedures, and infection control protocols Experience with EMR systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix for accurate medical documentation and record keeping Knowledge of dental equipment operation including X-ray machines, intraoral cameras, and 3D scanners Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and clinical confidentiality policies to ensure compliance with healthcare standards Ability to perform dental x-ray procedures safely while maintaining aseptic technique and infection prevention standards Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with the dental team and providing compassionate patient care Familiarity with pediatric dentistry practices and the unique needs of young patients is a plus Embark on a rewarding career where your skills make a real difference!
