In this fast-paced and collaborative environment, you will support both surgical and orthodontic procedures, ensuring efficient clinical operations and an exceptional patient experience. In this role, you will assist with oral surgery procedures such as extractions, implant placements, and sedation cases, as well as orthodontic treatments including braces, aligners, and appliance adjustments. Your knowledge of chairside assisting, sterilization protocols, and patient care will help maintain a safe, organized, and welcoming environment for patients of all ages. This paid position offers an excellent opportunity to expand your clinical skills across two specialties while working in a team-oriented setting and making a meaningful impact on patients' oral health and confidence. Responsibilities Assist the oral surgeon and orthodontist chairside during procedures, including extractions, implant placements, exposure/bonding, and orthodontic adjustments using four-handed dentistry techniques. Prepare and maintain treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and equipment, ensuring strict adherence to infection control and
OSHA/HIPAA
guidelines. Take and process diagnostic records, including panoramic, cephalometric, and intraoral X-rays, CBCT scans, impressions, and digital scans. Monitor patients during oral surgery procedures, including recording vital signs, assisting with sedation protocols, and providing post-operative care instructions. Assist with orthodontic procedures such as bonding brackets, changing archwires, placing/removing elastics, and delivering aligners and appliances. Maintain accurate patient records by updating medical histories, charting clinical notes, and documenting procedures in EMR systems. Educate patients on pre-operative and post-operative instructions, as well as orthodontic care, oral hygiene, and appliance maintenance. Manage clinical workflow by preparing trays, setting up for procedures, turning over rooms efficiently, and ensuring a smooth patient experience. Collaborate with the clinical team to ensure compliance with all safety protocols and deliver high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment. Requirements Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with familiarity in dental assisting duties across multiple specialties (willing to train the right person). Proficiency with EMR systems for managing medical records and documentation. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques. Ability to perform chairside assisting tasks including X-ray taking, vital signs, and supporting procedures in oral surgery and orthodontics. Familiarity with dental imaging equipment like 3D scanners. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages while maintaining professionalism and compassion.
