Job Description
Our Orthodontic office seeks an upbeat, patient, caring, and motivated individual for an entry level Orthodontic assistant position in our patient-centered practice. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented and enjoys working with children and adults in a fast-paced environment as part of a team. Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Maintaining accurate records of patients' oral health histories and treatment progress
- Preparing the teeth for bonding, placing aligner attachments, wires, and taking orthodontic records
- Assist the orthodontist during procedures, including orthodontic adjustments, appliance placement, and removal
- Take dental x-rays
- Prepare treatment area and maintain a sterile and organized working environment according to current infectious control procedures
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and post-treatment care
- Preform basic laboratory duties such as pouring models and fabricating retainers
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients and their families
- Encourage and promote healthy oral hygiene and treatment cooperation
- Answering phones and scheduling appointments as needed Ideal qualifications:
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and be a team player
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Experience and certifications preferred but not required, training is available
