Responsibilities Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, ensuring smooth workflow and patient comfort. Prepare treatment areas by sterilizing instruments and maintaining aseptic technique to uphold infection control standards. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray), operate 3D scanners, and assist with medical imaging to support accurate diagnoses. Manage patient records using EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring all medical documentation complies with HIPAA regulations. Support the dental reception process by scheduling appointments, updating medical records, and verifying patient insurance information. Monitor vital signs and assist with pediatric dentistry procedures to ensure safety and comfort for young patients. Maintain knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical coding to facilitate effective communication within the team. Skills Proven experience in dental assisting within a busy dental clinic environment with familiarity in general dentistry procedures. Strong understanding of infection control practices, aseptic technique, and sterilization protocols. Excellent knowledge of EMR systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix, with the ability to document accurately and efficiently. Ability to perform chairside assisting confidently during various procedures including prosthodontics and endodontics. Familiarity with medical terminology, medical documentation standards, and HIPAA compliance requirements. Experience with pediatric dentistry procedures and supporting pediatric patients through gentle care techniques.
