Duties Assist dentists during a variety of treatment procedures including general dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental equipment, and ensuring all supplies are ready for patient care. Take and develop dental x-rays and medical imaging while adhering to infection prevention management and aseptic techniques. Manage patient records using electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Provide chairside assistance by managing dental instruments, handing tools to dentists, and supporting four-handed dentistry techniques for efficiency. Monitor vital signs and assist with patient management to ensure comfort and safety during procedures. Maintain clinical confidentiality policies while handling sensitive medical documentation and medical records with professionalism. Requirements Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar dental clinic setting with knowledge of dental terminology and equipment. Proficiency in dental software Open Dental for scheduling, documentation, and patient management. Knowledge of infection control protocols including dental sterilization procedures and healthcare infection prevention standards. Ability to operate dental x-ray machines, 3D scanners, and other advanced dental imaging technology. Strong understanding of anatomy relevant to dentistry along with medical terminology related to oral health. Excellent communication skills as a Dental Receptionist or front desk assistant is a plus; ability to manage patient flow effectively. Certification in dental assisting or relevant healthcare training preferred; certification in radiography or x-ray tech is advantageous.
