We pride ourselves on our strong company culture, low turnover, and commitment to professional growth. Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for patient care and a comprehensive understanding of dental procedures and protocols. This role involves supporting dentists during procedures, managing patient records, and ensuring the highest standards of infection control and safety. The Dental Assistant will play a vital role in creating a welcoming environment while maintaining efficiency and accuracy in all clinical operations. Responsibilities Assist dentists during various dental procedures, including chairside assisting and providing necessary instruments and materials. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up equipment, and ensuring a clean, organized workspace in accordance with aseptic techniques. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) while adhering to HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy. Manage patient records using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality. Perform vital signs assessments and medical imaging as needed to support comprehensive patient evaluations. Educate patients on post-treatment care, oral hygiene practices, and treatment plans using clear dental terminology. Maintain infection control standards by following proper sterilization procedures and infection prevention protocols. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and assisting the dental receptionist when necessary. Skills Experience with Dentrix Ascend is a plus! Knowledge of dental terminology. Experience with chairside assisting techniques in general dentistry settings; familiarity with four-handed dentistry is preferred. Ability to operate dental imaging equipment including X-ray machines and 3D scanners accurately and safely. Strong understanding of infection control practices, aseptic technique, and sterilization procedures. Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients of all ages, especially pediatrics. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
