As a dental assistant you will work with the dentist and your team to promote good dental and general health through education, patient interaction, planning and support. Responsibilities Include:
Prepare patient for dental hygiene by welcoming, soothing, seating and draping patient. Record treatment information in the patient's chart. Examine patients' mouth for oral health, OHI, and provide the following treatment as instructed and approved by the dentist: Perform 4 and 6 hand assisting Perform Prophy Remove excess cement with hand instruments Assist with all chairside duties Assist with patient receiving treatment under general anesthesia Take x-rays Apply sealants Take impressions of teeth Complete chart notes Answer questions and provide parents, or guardians with information about patients' oral health, treatment, and hygiene. Help as needed in other areas of the office not limited to back office Communicate and work alongside dental staff to provide the patient with high level of care.
