Responsibilities Assist dentists during various clinical procedures including general dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing and organizing dental instruments and equipment following strict infection prevention management protocols. Take and develop dental x-rays and 3D scans, ensuring proper technique and patient comfort while adhering to dental sterilization procedures. Manage patient records accurately using electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and clinical confidentiality policies. Provide chairside assistance with four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance procedure efficiency. Educate patients on oral health practices, post-treatment care, and answer questions about dental terminology and procedures. Support the dental reception team by scheduling appointments, updating medical documentation, and managing patient flow with excellent patient management software skills. Requirements Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar dental clinic setting with knowledge of dental equipment and clinical procedures. Familiarity with EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft; experience with patient management software is highly desirable. Strong understanding of infection control standards including aseptic technique, sterilization procedures, and healthcare infection prevention practices. Ability to accurately perform dental x-ray procedures while maintaining safety standards for patients and staff. Knowledge of medical terminology, dental terminology, anatomy, and medical documentation requirements. Excellent communication skills to provide compassionate patient care and collaborate effectively with the dental team. Certification in dental assisting or relevant training in oral surgery, endodontics, or pediatric dentistry is preferred but not mandatory.
