Join a mission-driven team providing compassionate dental care to underserved children, adults, and veterans across Calumet, Outagamie, and Winnebago counties. Tri-County Dental is seeking an energetic Dental Assistant to support care delivery in both our fixed-site and mobile dental clinics. Position Summary The ideal candidate will provide chairside support to Fellows, volunteer dentists, and hygienists, ensure patient comfort, and contribute to the smooth and efficient operation of our dental practice. This role is pivotal in delivering exceptional oral healthcare to our community and supporting the organization's mission.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist Fellows, volunteer dentists, and hygienists during dental procedures, providing chairside support and patient care. Maintain a clean, organized, and sterile environment by adhering to OSHA and infection control standards. Take digital x-rays and accurately chart perio and restorative information, including clinical notes. Prepare treatment rooms by ensuring all necessary instruments, materials, and supplies are available. Review patients' medical histories and communicate pertinent information to the dentist before treatment. Support the Dental Clinic Coordinator with equipment maintenance and clinic operations. Educate patients and families about oral health, disease prevention, and post-treatment care. Manage clinic inventories, maintain supply levels, and participate in the ordering process to ensure seamless clinic operations. Collaborate with the Volunteer Coordinator to maximize the effective use of volunteers. Assist in administrative duties, including patient triage and outpatient clinical procedures. Represent Tri-County Dental at seminars, committee meetings, and community outreach events when needed. Perform additional duties as assigned to support clinic efficiency and patient care.
Minimum Job Requirements:
Dental Assistant degree/certificate required. Minimum of 2 years of chair-side experience preferred. Experience with Eaglesoft or similar dental practice management software preferred. Strong computer skills, including proficiency with MS Office, Outlook, and other relevant applications. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work effectively as part of a team and build positive relationships with staff, volunteers, and patients.
