Assist dentist with procedures by passing instruments from the tray to the dentist and suctioning patients Carry out and assist with behavior management techniques as recommended by First Impressions Discuss Pre Op and Post Op instructions as well as full details of the procedure with guardian before, during and after the appointment Enter accurate and thorough clinical notes and transaction codes for each procedure into the computer system; Ascend and Dolphin Assist the dentist with "Thank You" cards, doctor referrals and treatment complete letters Take impressions for space maintainers, mouth guards and other appliances Pour and trim models and fabricate appliances when needed Complete lab slips and send appliances out to be made Assist with all other orthodontic procedures as needed Take panoramic, cephalometric, bitewings and periapical x-rays Maintain a clean and organized work area Review and send treatment information to insurance carriers Be able to perform the duties as outlined in the Pedo Prophy Assistant job description Perform weekly/monthly lab cleaning, maintenance of autoclaves, statims and any other equipment and hand pieces Inventory and stock supplies as needed Provide coverage in other areas as needed including, but not limited to, the Hospital setting Other duties as assigned
