Job Description
Job Summary Due to the addition of an Associate Dentist as well as a Registered Dental Hygienist, we are seeking a dedicated and skilled Hygiene Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our dental clinic. This position involves assisting dentists and hygienists during procedures, managing patient records, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment. A strong understanding of dental terminology and procedures is essential, along with experience in various dental software systems. Responsibilities Assist dentists and hygienists during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available. Take and develop dental X-rays while adhering to safety protocols. Maintain accurate patient records, including medical history and treatment plans, utilizing EMR systems such as Dentrix. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care. Manage appointment scheduling and give patient estimates Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and infection control protocols. Monitor vital signs when necessary and assist in pediatric dentistry procedures. Utilize 3D scanners for imaging when required. Stay updated on advancements in dental technology and techniques. Requirements Experience as a Dental Assistant/ Hygiene Assistant in a clinical setting is preferred, however we would be happy to train the right candidate! Familiarity with dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and general dentistry practices is preferred but not a requirement. Proficiency in using EMR systems, particularly Dentrix is preferred. Ability to perform chairside assisting effectively while maintaining aseptic technique. Understanding of medical imaging processes and infection control standards. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in managing medical records. Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients and team members.
