Job Description

Duties:
  • Assist the dentist during dental procedures
  • Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment
  • Take and develop dental x-rays
  • Perform basic laboratory tasks such as pouring and trimming models, fabricating custom trays, and taking impressions
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-operative care
  • Schedule appointments and manage patient flow
  • May require the performance of additional duties as assigned.
Employees are expected to assist with maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work environment, including routine cleaning. Cleaning responsibilities may extend beyond an employee's primary job functions and may include workstations, common areas, equipment, restrooms, and other facility areas as needed.
Skills:
  • Previous Dental Assistant experience preferred
  • Bilingual
  • Spanish, English
  • Aseptic technique: Ability to maintain a sterile environment during dental procedures
  • Medical imaging: Experience in taking and developing dental x-rays
  • Patient assessment: Ability to assess patients' oral health conditions and identify any abnormalities or concerns
  • Assisting:
    Proficiency in assisting the dentist during various dental procedures
  • HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act): Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality
  • Anatomy knowledge: Understanding of oral anatomy and its relation to dental procedures
Dentrix:
Proficiency in using Dentrix dental practice management software for appointment scheduling, and patient records This is not an exhaustive list of duties and skills.
