  • Full-time Position Summary The Dental Assistant Trainer provides training to Dental Assistants in the Appleton and Oshkosh Dental Clinics.
When not training, this position will work as a Dental Assistant and involves a wide range of responsibilities and the ability to coordinate multiple activities simultaneously in order to support efficient dental office operation. Qualifications Graduate of an Accredited Dental Assistant program and/or equivalent training with at least three years of chair side clinical experience. Key Accountabilities Responsible for on-boarding and training of new dental assistants per the Dental Assistant manual and PCHC procedures and policies. Responsible for ongoing training and updates to dental assistants as needed. Maintain and update Dental Assistant training guidelines. Monitor and correct Dental Assistant skill sets to PCHC standards. Work closely with Dental Site Managers to monitor clinical competency. Works as chairside dental assistant when not onboarding new dental assistants. Responsible for monitoring all safety, quality, infection control and risk management requirements pertaining to dental assistants. Obtain health histories for review by the dentist and document oral examinations in Dentrix. Receive and prepare patients for treatment including taking and incorporating digital x-rays into software program, seating, chair positioning, napkin placement, provide patient safety devices. Perform coronal polishing and fluoride application, and provide patient instructions pre
  • and post-operative.
Follow all safety engineering practices, including use of lead aprons, PPE hazardous and infectious product handling, sharps handling, curing light exposure, and
MSDS/OSHA
knowledge and understanding. Follow accepted dental procedures in the preparing and post-treatment cleanup of dental equipment and operatories, including hard surface disinfection. Attend staff meetings of the dental unit and/or PCHC meetings that have relevance to dental staff. #hc249574
