Overview We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in dental assisting, with experience in various clinical procedures and patient care. This role offers an exciting opportunity to support general dentistry, utilizing advanced dental technology and fostering a welcoming environment for patients. Responsibilities Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including chairside assisting and four-handed dentistry techniques. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and ensuring aseptic techniques are followed. Take and develop dental X-rays, including 3D scans, while adhering to infection control protocols and HIPAA regulations for patient privacy. Manage patient records using EMR systems such as Dentrix ensuring accurate medical documentation and coding. Monitor vital signs and assist with dental imaging as needed for patient assessments. Maintain knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and procedures across specialties such as prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Support infection control practices and ensure the clinic adheres to all safety standards to promote a clean, safe environment for staff and patients. Qualifications Proven experience in dental assisting within a busy dental clinic environment. Proficiency with EMR systems such as Dentrix; familiarity with medical coding and documentation is preferred. Knowledge of infection control protocols, aseptic technique, and sterilization procedures. Ability to operate dental equipment including X-ray machines, 3D scanners, and dental imaging devices. Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy, and clinical procedures across general dentistry disciplines including pediatric dentistry. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients, staff, and healthcare providers. Certification in radiography or X-ray technology is highly desirable; additional training in pediatrics or prosthodontics is a plus.
