Job Description

Preston-Taylor Community Health Centers, Inc. is composed of a team of dedicated health care professionals that have at heart the mission of the organization of providing comprehensive primary health care services to the residents of the four-county service area of West Virginia in Preston, Taylor, Tucker, and Grant Counties regardless of their ability to pay. This is accomplished through the provision of primary care services that are culturally sensitive and relevant to the needs of the community. In supporting the delivery of activities deriving from 6 Medical Community Health Care Centers, 2 Pharmacies, 2 Dental Centers, an Optometry office, and a School Based Health Center, we are seeking a part time and/or full time Dental Assistant to join the organization. This position will work from the Dental Center of Taylor County located in Grafton, West Virginia.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Select and set up instruments, equipment and material needed
  • Check patients in and room patients - assist with office procedures as directed
  • Assist the dentist
  • Help patients feel comfortable before, during, and after dental treatment
  • Undertake lab tasks as instructed
  • Provide oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions as directed by dentist
  • Keep the dental room clean and well-stocked
  • Cross train to cover front desk duties if needed
  • Perform other duties as needed with the initiative to find things that need to be done and willing to assist other staff when not busy
Qualifications:
High school diploma 3+ Years of work experience in a dental office, experience with an Electronic Dental Record is preferred. Strong computer skills and proficiency with electronic health records. Strong communication skills and knowledge of the communities of which we serve Must be well organized with a strong attention to detail and accuracy
