Overview Join our dynamic dental team as a Dental Assistant and play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and supporting our clinical operations. At Cochran Family Dentistry, you will assist the dentist during procedures, manage patient flow, and ensure the highest standards of infection control and clinical excellence. Your expertise will help create a welcoming atmosphere where patients feel comfortable and confident in their dental experience. Duties Prepare treatment rooms with dental instruments, supplies, and equipment ensuring sterilization procedures are followed. Assist the dentist chairside during various procedures. Take and develop dental X-rays while maintaining strict adherence to infection prevention management and aseptic techniques. Manage patient records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems; document medical history, vital signs, and treatment details accurately. Provide patient care by explaining procedures, answering questions, and ensuring comfort throughout treatments. Operate dental equipment including 3D scanners, dental x-ray machines, and other clinical tools with proficiency. Support patient management software for scheduling appointments, updating medical documentation, and coordinating patient flow efficiently. Follow clinical confidentiality policies to protect patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth clinic operations and excellent patient experiences. Requirements Experience as a Dental Assistant with knowledge of general dentistry procedures is preferred but not a requirement. Familiarity with dental anatomy, dental/medical terminology and dental instrument processing protocols. Proficiency in using dental software for medical records management. Knowledge of infection control practices including sterilization procedures and aseptic technique to prevent healthcare-associated infections. Ability to perform X-ray procedures accurately while maintaining safety standards for patients and staff. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages. Wages are negotiable depending on experience. We are open Monday-Thursday, 8am-5pm. Additional benefits include nine annual holidays.
