Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a warm, organized, and proactive Dental Assistant to join our team. As a vital support to our clinical staff, you will be responsible for creating a welcoming and comfortable environment for patients while managing a range of chairside and laboratory tasks. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, patient-focused, and capable of efficiently supporting both clinical operations and sterilization standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Patient Experience & Chairside Operations Welcome all patients to the clinical area, ensuring they feel comfortable and at ease in the dental chair Prepare patients for treatments, ensuring health histories and vitals are updated accurately and promptly Review scheduled procedures and set up treatment rooms with necessary materials and instruments prior to patient arrival Assist dentists during a variety of treatment procedures, practicing efficient four-handed dentistry Take high-quality digital dental radiographs (X-rays) and intraoral impressions as directed by the clinician Provide patients with clear, compassionate post-operative instructions and oral hygiene education Sterilization, Safety & Clinical Coordination Clean, disinfect, and sterilize all dental instruments and treatment rooms according to strict OSHA and CDC guidelines Perform routine preventive maintenance and spore testing on sterilization equipment Monitor and track clinical inventory, communicating supply needs to the Practice Director for monthly ordering Properly package and log diagnostic cases being sent to and received from dental laboratories Maintain the cleanliness, organization, and compliance of the clinical floor, lab, and sterilization areas
Qualifications:
Dental assisting experience preferred but we are willing to train the right candidate High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited dental assisting program is a plus Valid state X-ray / Radiology certification required (or willingness to obtain) CPR/BLS certification preferred Familiarity with dental terminology, clinical instruments, and digital charting software Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build trust with anxious patients Detail-oriented with strong organizational and multitasking abilities Professional demeanor and a commitment to delivering exceptional patient care Willingness to work as required
