In this energetic and rewarding position, you will utilize your expertise to perform thorough dental cleanings, educate patients on oral hygiene practices, and assist the dental team in providing comprehensive general dentistry services. Your dedication will help create a welcoming environment where patients feel confident and cared for, all while adhering to the highest standards of infection control and patient confidentiality. Duties Perform professional dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Conduct patient assessments by evaluating oral health status, vital signs, and medical history documentation review. Assist the dentist during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to ensure efficiency and comfort. Take and develop medical imaging such as X-rays, ensuring proper technique and patient safety. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions. Maintain accurate dental records using SoftDent. Follow strict infection control protocols, including aseptic techniques and sterilization procedures to safeguard patient and staff health. Qualifications Valid Dental Hygienist license with current state certification. Proven experience in dental office settings, preferably with pediatric dentistry or general dentistry backgrounds. Proficiency with dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical coding for documentation purposes. Familiarity with EMR systems such as SoftDent is highly desirable. Strong understanding of infection control practices, medical imaging procedures, and HIPAA regulations. Excellent patient care skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse patient populations, including pediatrics. Knowledge of dental assisting techniques, chairside assisting skills, and medical terminology to support comprehensive patient care.
