The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to patient care, excellent communication skills, and proficiency in dental hygiene procedures. As a vital member of our practice, you will provide comprehensive dental hygiene services, educate patients on oral health, and support the overall efficiency of our dental operations. Your expertise will contribute to maintaining high standards of patient safety, comfort, and satisfaction. Responsibilities Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and calculus buildup. Conduct initial patient assessments by reviewing medical histories and recording vital signs to ensure safe treatment planning. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) using dental imaging equipment while adhering to infection prevention protocols. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, preventive care, and treatment options tailored to pediatric dentistry when applicable. Assist dentists during procedures through chairside assisting, managing dental instruments, and ensuring a sterile environment. Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient records within electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Follow all HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and secure handling of medical records. Support infection prevention management by implementing aseptic techniques and maintaining dental equipment in optimal condition. Requirements Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist with current certification to perform dental hygiene procedures. Proven experience in general dentistry with familiarity in pediatric dentistry preferred. Proficiency in using EHR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for documentation review and medical coding. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dental care. Experience with dental x-ray techniques, X-ray safety protocols, and medical imaging equipment. Excellent patient communication skills with the ability to educate diverse patient populations effectively. Knowledge of healthcare infection prevention and control standards, including aseptic techniques and sterilization procedures. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment practicing four-handed dentistry when necessary.
