In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive dental hygiene services, assist with patient assessments, and support the delivery of exceptional dental care in a fast-paced, friendly environment. Your energetic approach and attention to detail will ensure every patient receives personalized, high-quality treatment while maintaining strict adherence to infection control standards and privacy regulations. Duties Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), ensuring accurate positioning and patient comfort. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical history, vital signs, and current dental health status. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to foster lifelong healthy habits. Assist dentists during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to optimize efficiency and patient comfort. Maintain accurate and detailed electronic health records (EHR/EMR), documenting treatment plans, medical records, and procedural notes. Ensure strict infection prevention management by adhering to aseptic techniques, sterilization protocols, and HIPAA compliance to protect patient confidentiality. Requirements Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current certification to perform dental procedures. Proficiency in dental software systems such as dentimax for scheduling, documentation review, and record management. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, equipment operation, and medical imaging techniques. Experience in pediatric dentistry or working with pediatric patients is highly desirable. Excellent communication skills for client interaction, patient education, and team collaboration. Familiarity with healthcare infection prevention and control standards, including HIPAA regulations. Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently while maintaining a compassionate approach to patient care.
