Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated Registered Dental Hygienist to join our well-established dental team. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive dental hygiene services, educate patients on optimal oral health practices, and support the overall success of our practice. Your expertise will help ensure a positive patient experience while maintaining the highest standards of infection control and patient confidentiality. This position offers an excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where your skills in dental care and patient education are truly valued. Our private practice is open Monday through Thursday and some Fridays, 8 am to 5 pm. Responsibilities Perform dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing, to remove plaque and tartar buildup, as well as periodontal scaling and root planing and maintenance. Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs and medical history reviews, to ensure safe and effective treatment. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) utilizing dental imaging equipment while adhering to safety protocols. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote long-term oral health. Assist with chairside procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to improve efficiency and patient comfort. Maintain accurate and detailed electronic health records (EHR) using Eaglesfoft, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Follow infection prevention management protocols, including aseptic techniques and sterilization procedures, to uphold a safe clinical environment. Requirements Valid licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist in accordance with CA state regulations. Proven experience in general dentistry settings. Proficiency in dental terminology, dental equipment operation, and medical terminology relevant to dental care. Strong knowledge of EMR/EHR systems such as Eaglesoft for documentation review and management. Ability to perform dental x-ray procedures accurately while maintaining radiation safety standards. Excellent patient communication skills with a focus on patient care and education. Knowledge of healthcare infection prevention and control practices, including HIPAA compliance management. Pay:
$60.00 - $67.00 per hour Expected hours: 8.0 - 24.0 per week
