Dental Hygienist to treat our wonderful patients and promote good oral health practices. Dental Hygienist duties revolve around conducting initial patient screenings, cleaning teeth (e.g. removing plaque) and advising patients on oral health and preventative care. You'll help dentists decide treatments for teeth or gum diseases and handle dental emergencies. As a Dental Hygienist, you should be reliable and able to build trust with patients of all ages. You should have deep knowledge of relevant health and safety rules and a good eye for oral diseases. If you have a steady hand and great bedside manner, we'd like to meet you. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and treatment options tailored to their needs Assist the dentist during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to ensure efficiency and comfort Take and interpret medical imaging such as X-rays while adhering to aseptic techniques and radiation safety protocols Maintain accurate and detailed medical records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix Follow infection control guidelines and HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality and ensure a sterile environment Qualifications Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist with current credentials Proven experience in general dentistry, with a strong emphasis on pediatric dentistry preferred Proficiency in dental terminology, medical coding, and documentation review processes Familiarity with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for efficient record-keeping Knowledge of anatomy, dental terminology, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques Ability to perform patient care tasks including vital signs measurement and patient assessment with professionalism Excellent communication skills to educate patients effectively and collaborate with team members Join us in making a difference by providing compassionate, comprehensive dental care that enhances smiles and improves lives!
