Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Dental Hygienist to cover a medical leave from June 22

• July 2, 2026.

Your role is very important to our practice because your care is their initial contact with the prac and their experience must be a great experience. Your primary responsibility is to do what you do best, gentle and through prophy/perio maintenance and oral hygiene instructions.

You must be passionate and have excellent communication skills

Duties:

• Perform dental cleanings, including removing plaque and tartar buildup
• Conduct thorough oral examinations to identify any signs of oral diseases or abnormalities
• Take and develop dental x-rays
• Administer local anesthesia as directed by the dentist
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and provide personalized oral care instructions
• Assist the dentist during procedures by handing them instruments and maintaining a sterile field
• Perform dental charting and maintain accurate patient records
• Collaborate with the dental team to ensure efficient and effective patient care

Qualifications:

• Valid state dental hygiene license
• Associate's degree in Dental Hygiene (Bachelor's degree preferred)
• Knowledge of medical coding and documentation practices
• Proficiency in using dental software systems for patient records management
• Familiarity with aseptic technique and infection control protocols
• Understanding of HIPAA regulations and patient privacy practices
• Strong knowledge of dental anatomy, oral health conditions, and treatment options
• Ability to take accurate vital signs and record medical history information
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
