DENTAL HYGIENIST JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Promote dental health by completing dental prophylaxis, oral cancer screenings, radiographic studies, and charting conditions of decay and disease in compliance with the Dental Practice Act Prepare patients for treatment by welcoming, seating, and draping them Provide information by answering patient and staff questions Maintain instrumentation by sharpening, sterilizing, and selecting tools Select materials and equipment by evaluating patients' oral health Complete dental prophylaxis by cleaning deposits and stains from teeth and beneath gum margins Detect disease through screenings, examinations, and radiographic studies Help prevent decay by applying fluorides and other cavity-preventing agents

DENTAL HYGIENIST JOB REQUIREMENTS

Active dental hygiene license in DC Knowledge of dental procedures and terminology Understanding of HIPAA regulations and ability to maintain patient confidentiality Excellent communication skills to educate patients on oral health care practices #IND5
