Duties Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup Take and evaluate vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature to assess patient health status Assist with medical imaging procedures like X-rays, ensuring proper positioning and safety protocols are followed Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical history and current health conditions to tailor care plans Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions Support chairside assisting during various dental procedures using aseptic techniques to maintain infection control standards Manage and update electronic medical records (EMR) systems accurately, including documentation review and medical coding when necessary Requirements Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current certification to practice in a clinical setting Proficiency with Dentrix dental software for scheduling, documentation, and record management Experience in pediatric dentistry and familiarity with pediatric-specific care approaches preferred Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and HIPAA regulations to ensure patient safety and confidentiality Ability to perform general dentistry procedures with precision while maintaining a compassionate approach to patient care Excellent communication skills for explaining procedures and instructions clearly to patients of all ages Prior experience working in dental clinics or offices utilizing EMR systems is highly desirable Embark on a rewarding career where your skills make a difference every day!
