- Duties
- Perform dental hygiene procedures, including cleaning, scaling, and polishing teeth
- Take and develop dental x-rays
- Assess patients' oral health and educate them on proper oral hygiene techniques
- Administer local anesthesia and nitrous oxide as needed
- Assist the dentist during procedures by providing necessary instruments and materials
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records using electronic dental software systems (e.g., Dentrix, Eaglesoft)
- Follow infection control protocols to ensure a safe and clean environment for patients and staff
- Collaborate with the dental team to provide comprehensive patient care ```Requirements```
- Valid state dental hygiene license & administer local anesthesia
- Associate's degree in dental hygiene (Bachelor's degree preferred)
- Proficiency in using dental software systems (e.g., OpenDental, Dentrix, Eaglesoft)
- Knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and instruments
- Familiarity with medical coding and billing practices
- Experience working with pediatric patients is a plus
- Strong communication skills to effectively educate and communicate with patients
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations for patient privacy and confidentiality
- Ability to work well in a team environment
