Our team is committed to delivering exceptional service and fostering a positive experience for every patient. Job Overview We are looking for a friendly and professional Registered Dental Hygienist to cover a maternity leave for one of our amazing hygienists from September through December, three to four days a week. In this role, you will play a key part in maintaining excellent patient care, supporting our dental team, and ensuring smooth clinic operations. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about promoting oral health and comfortable working in a fast-paced, patient-focused setting. Responsibilities Perform dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing, while educating patients on proper oral hygiene practices. Take digital dental radiographs (X-rays) accurately, ensuring patient safety and comfort. Assess patient health history and vital signs to support comprehensive dental care. Assist the dentist during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to improve efficiency. Maintain accurate medical records and document treatment details in electronic health records (EHR) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Follow infection prevention protocols, including aseptic techniques, to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff. Educate patients on dental care best practices, emphasizing the importance of regular check-ups and hygiene routines. Requirements Valid licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist in accordance with state or regional regulations. Experience with Dentrix is preferred. Knowledge of general dentistry procedures, and dental terminology. Strong understanding of infection control standards, HIPAA compliance, and maintaining patient confidentiality. Ability to perform chairside assisting duties effectively while communicating clearly with patients of all ages. Familiarity with medical imaging techniques, vital signs monitoring, and medical terminology relevant to dental care. Excellent patient care skills, with an emphasis on education, empathy, and professionalism.
