Position Overview:
As a Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH), you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality preventive oral care, including cleanings, scaling, and polishing, all aimed at promoting patient health and preventing gum disease.
Key Responsibilities:
Patient Care & Record Management:
Document treatments, plan future care, and maintain thorough, accurate patient records.
X-rays & Diagnostics:
Conduct full mouth X-rays and evaluate periodontal and oral health conditions for a comprehensive dental diagnosis and treatment plan.
Preventive Treatments:
Provide essential services such as scaling, fluoride application, oral cancer exams, and root planing. Apply topical agents, sealants, and educate patients on preventive care and oral hygiene.
Treatment Room Preparation:
Ensure treatment rooms are stocked, sanitized, and ready, handling instrument sterilization and equipment maintenance.
Scheduling & Patient Follow-up:
Assist with scheduling and maintaining patient recall systems to encourage timely check-ups and treatment.
Qualifications & Skills:
Current RDH license with a minimum of 1-year experience as a hygienist. CPR and first aid certified. Proficiency with dental practice software (Eaglesoft, Carestack, Mango) and standard office software (Excel, Word). Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients, colleagues, and doctors. Knowledgeable of OSHA regulations and safety protocols. Professional demeanor with an ability to stay composed in high-paced environments. Team player with a positive attitude, organized, and skilled in time management.
Physical & Environmental Requirements:
Active throughout the day: standing, bending, reaching, and lifting up to 30 lbs. Dexterity for handling tools and performing detailed work, along with clear vision and hearing for effective patient care.
