Responsibilities Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments to maintain patient oral health. Being able to perform sealants, take impressions, and other clinical services is a big plus! Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and preventive care strategies. Take and develop medical imaging such as X-rays, ensuring proper positioning and safety protocols are followed. Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient records in EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Follow infection control protocols, including aseptic techniques and sterilization procedures, to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff. Review medical records for completeness and accuracy, supporting comprehensive patient care documentation. Support pediatric dentistry services by providing gentle care tailored to children's needs. Qualifications Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist with current credentials. Proven experience working in general dentistry or pediatric dentistry settings with familiarity in dental terminology. Proficiency in dental software systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is highly preferred. Strong knowledge of infection control practices, aseptic techniques, and anatomy relevant to dental care. Excellent patient care skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse age groups, especially pediatrics. Ability to perform chairside hygiene duties confidently while maintaining high standards of infection control and documentation review. Knowledge of medical terminology, medical coding, HIPAA regulations, and medical records management is advantageous. Demonstrated ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment using EMR systems for accurate documentation.
