Job Description

Position Summary JoCo Perio is seeking a full-time Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) to join our periodontal team in Olathe, KS. The Dental Hygienist serves as the primary preventive provider of the practice , responsible for delivering high-quality clinical care while educating and motivating patients toward optimal oral and periodontal health. This role plays a critical part in identifying conditions, supporting diagnosis, and contributing to overall patient health outcomes through exceptional clinical and communication skills. Key ResponsibilitiesClinical Responsibilities Perform dental cleanings, periodontal maintenance, and scaling and root planing (SRP) Conduct comprehensive periodontal evaluations, including probing, recession, mobility, and furcation Identify early signs of periodontal disease and areas of restorative concern Take, process, and review diagnostic radiographs Perform head, neck, and oral cancer screenings Apply fluoride and other preventive agents as needed Assist the doctor during hygiene exams and support diagnosis Patient Care & Education Review and update patient medical histories and document clinical findings Educate patients on oral hygiene, periodontal health, and preventive care Communicate findings clearly with both patients and the doctor Motivate patients toward improved home care and long-term oral health Provide a comfortable, positive patient experience at all times Operational Responsibilities Prepare and maintain treatment rooms and instruments Ensure compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, and infection control protocols Maintain hygiene equipment and instruments in proper working condition Accurately chart treatments and clinical notes Schedule and reinforce continuing care appointments Support overall office flow and team collaboration What We're Looking For Active Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) license in Kansas Current CPR/BLS certification Periodontal experience preferred (SRP, maintenance) Strong clinical judgment and attention to detail Excellent communication and patient education skills Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment Professional, positive, and patient-focused demeanor Schedule Full-time, Monday-Thursday Fridays optional based on patient needs Working Conditions & Physical Requirements Combination of sitting and standing throughout the day Frequent bending, twisting, and repetitive hand movements Strong manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination required Ability to work in a clinical environment with moderate noise levels Must be comfortable working chairside and in close patient interaction Why Join JoCo Perio?
