We're currently building a talent pool for 2 contract Registered Dental Hygienist positions at FMC Lexington Dental Clinic, with both full-time and part-time options available.

Place of Performance:

Services will be performed in the main institution Dental Clinic FMC Lexington - 3301 Leestown Road Lexington, Kentucky 40511 Schedule Position 1 (Full time): Monday-Friday, up to 40 hours/week. Position 2 (Part time): Tuesday-Thursday, 24 hours/week.

Clinic hours:

6:00 AM-2:30 PM . Occasional schedule adjustments may be required based on facility operations. No services on Federal holidays. Key Responsibilities Perform dental prophylaxis and preventive dental hygiene services. Provide oral hygiene instruction and patient education. Assess and document oral hygiene and periodontal conditions. Perform periodontal charting, scaling, root planing, calculus removal, and other authorized nonsurgical periodontal therapy. Take dental radiographs as ordered/authorized. Document patient care accurately and timely in BEMR (EMR use by BOPs) . Review medical/dental history and identify concerns requiring dentist review. Prepare operatory and instruments. Communicate significant clinical findings and urgent dental concerns to the dentist/clinical staff. Follow infection-control, PPE, sterilization, sharps, and safety procedures. Required Qualifications Active, unrestricted Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) license authorizing practice in Kentucky or a compact state. Current CPR/BLS certification acceptable to the Government. Able to provide required license/certification documentation.

Able to pass:

Drug screening Law-enforcement background check Required security/investigative screening TB Test Able to meet required health/communicable-disease documentation requirements. No prior correctional experience required. Work Environment Onsite work in a Federal correctional healthcare facility . Must be comfortable working with an adult-in-custody population. Must follow facility security, privacy, safety, and professional-boundary requirements. Approximately 4-hour institutional orientation plus annual refresher.

Required attire:

professional, loose-fitting, solid-colored scrubs and appropriate clinical footwear. Khaki and green scrubs are not permitted.
