Responsibilities Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments, ensuring a comfortable experience for patients Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions to inform treatment plans Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to foster lifelong healthy habits Assist with chairside procedures such as dental x-rays, medical imaging, and applying dental sealants using aseptic techniques Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix accurately and efficiently for documentation review and medical coding purposes Maintain strict infection prevention protocols by adhering to healthcare infection prevention and control standards, including sterilization of dental equipment and maintaining patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations Support general dentistry procedures and pediatric dentistry cases with effective four-handed dentistry techniques and patient care expertise Skills Proficiency in dental software systems such as Dentrix for managing electronic health records (EHR) and documentation review Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and medical records management Experience with dental equipment operation including X-ray machines, dental imaging tools, and sterilization devices Excellent client communication skills to educate patients effectively about dental care and foster trustful relationships Ability to perform patient assessment tasks such as vital signs measurement and medical history review with accuracy Knowledge of healthcare infection prevention measures, aseptic techniques, and infection control protocols within a dental setting Familiarity with pediatric dentistry practices and the unique needs of pediatric patients is a plus Understanding of HIPAA compliance management to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality at all times Join us in delivering outstanding dental care while advancing your career in a supportive environment that values your expertise!
