Duties Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Conduct patient assessments by recording vital signs, medical history, and current dental concerns. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) using digital imaging technology while ensuring radiation safety protocols. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote long-term dental health. Assist with chairside procedures, including providing support during pediatric dentistry treatments and managing infection control protocols. Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) using systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, documenting all patient interactions thoroughly. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by maintaining patient confidentiality and safeguarding medical records at all times. Follow strict infection prevention management practices, including aseptic techniques and sterilization of dental equipment. Support the dental team with administrative tasks such as reviewing documentation, scheduling appointments, and managing medical records. Uphold high standards of infection control and healthcare safety standards to protect patients and staff alike. Experience Proven experience working as a Dental Hygienist in a busy dental office or clinic setting. Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is highly preferred. Knowledge of pediatric dentistry principles and procedures is advantageous for serving younger patients effectively. Strong understanding of dental terminology, medical terminology, and anatomy relevant to oral health care. Experience performing dental x-rays (dental imaging), vital signs measurement, and chairside assisting during various procedures. Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly with patients of all ages while providing excellent client communication and education. Knowledge of healthcare infection prevention and control standards, including aseptic technique and sterilization processes. Ability to work efficiently in a team environment practicing four-handed dentistry techniques for optimal patient care delivery.
