Job Description

Busy, growing, friendly dental practice at Waterboro Dentistry seeks Dental Hygienist to provide superior service to our patients. Candidates must possess the skills to motivate and instruct patients on methods to prevent oral disease, maintain oral health, and say YES to great comprehensive dental care. Also, you must possess excellent customer service/interpersonal skills, strong attention to detail, and excellent problem-solving skills, and be able to multi-task. If you are a proactive, quick learner with a strong work ethic, and are interested in joining our team, please email resume. Responsibilities Ensure patients feel as comfortable as possible before their examination Sterilize dental instruments properly Conduct initial mouth screenings and check oral health history Identify conditions like gingivitis, caries or periodontitis Clean and help protect patients' teeth (e.g. remove plaque or apply fluoride) Educate patients of all ages on proper teeth care (by demonstrating, for example, good brushing techniques) Give instructions to patients after operations or other dental procedures Take X-rays Maintain documentation and charts on each patient Monitor supplies Skills In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations in this profession (e.g. HIPAA) Experience in preparing and maintaining dental equipment Outstanding communication skills A patient and friendly personality Attention to detail Diploma in Dental Hygiene Valid license to practice
