Our hygienists are an integral part of the clinical team. The ideal candidate is confident in periodontal therapy and patient education, communicates well with patients and doctors, and understands the importance of providing thorough, individualized care. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive dental hygiene care, including prophylaxis, periodontal maintenance, scaling and root planing Assess patients' periodontal and overall oral health Take diagnostic-quality dental radiographs Complete periodontal charting and accurately document clinical findings Educate patients regarding oral health, periodontal disease, home care, and preventive treatment Administer local anesthetic as permitted by Michigan licensure Provide fluoride treatments, sealants, and other preventive services Identify areas of concern and communicate clinical findings with the dentist Help patients understand recommended treatment and the importance of continued care Maintain accurate and timely patient records Follow infection-control, OSHA, HIPAA, and clinical safety standards Work collaboratively with our doctors, assistants, and administrative team to provide an exceptional patient experience Qualifications Current Michigan Registered Dental Hygienist license Current CPR/BLS certification Local anesthesia certification preferred Strong clinical and periodontal skills Excellent communication and patient-education skills Dependable, organized, and team-oriented Comfortable working in a busy, growing dental practice New graduates are welcome to apply If you are looking for an office where you can provide quality care, develop relationships with your patients, and be part of a team that values both its patients and its people, we would love to meet you.
