  • Periodontal Specialty PracticeJob Overview Advanced Periodontics & Implantology is seeking a skilled, dependable, and compassionate Registered Dental Hygienist to join our specialty periodontal team.
We are looking for a hygienist who is confident in their clinical abilities, values exceptional patient care, and understands the importance of building trust with patients. Our hygienists play an integral role in the long-term management of periodontal health and work closely with our periodontists to provide comprehensive, individualized care. Periodontal experience is preferred, but not required. We are happy to work with the right hygienist who is eager to expand their knowledge and skills within a specialty periodontal practice. Schedule Monday
  • Plymouth Office 8:00 AM
  • 5:00 PM Tuesday
  • Livonia Office 8:00 AM
  • 5:00 PM Responsibilities Provide comprehensive periodontal maintenance and preventive dental hygiene care Perform scaling and root planing and other non-surgical periodontal therapy as indicated Conduct thorough periodontal assessments, including periodontal charting and review of patients' medical and dental histories Recognize signs of periodontal disease, caries, oral pathology, and other abnormalities Take diagnostic dental radiographs in accordance with clinical and safety protocols Administer local anesthesia as appropriate and within scope of licensure Monitor patient vital signs and identify medical concerns that may impact dental treatment Educate patients on periodontal disease, oral hygiene techniques, home care, and preventive strategies Reinforce post-operative instructions and the importance of ongoing periodontal maintenance Maintain complete, accurate, and timely clinical documentation Communicate clinical findings and changes in periodontal status with the periodontist and clinical team Follow all OSHA, HIPAA, infection control, and patient safety protocols Provide compassionate care while helping patients feel comfortable and confident throughout treatment Collaborate with doctors and team members to ensure continuity of care and an exceptional patient experience Qualifications Current Michigan Registered Dental Hygienist license required Current Local Anesthesia Certification required Nitrous Oxide Certification Required Periodontal or specialty experience preferred, but not required Strong periodontal instrumentation and clinical assessment skills Excellent communication and patient education skills Strong attention to detail and clinical documentation Professional, dependable, and team-oriented Ability to build rapport and establish trust with patients Commitment to providing a high standard of patient care Benefits 401(k) eligibility after one year of employment Employee discount Supportive and collaborative specialty practice environment Opportunity to expand clinical knowledge and periodontal skills
