Dental Hygienist Duties Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including medical history reviews and oral examinations. Conduct dental cleanings, scaling, and polishing procedures to remove plaque and tartar. Apply preventive materials such as sealants and fluoride treatments. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and the importance of regular dental visits. Maintain accurate patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Collaborate with dentists to develop treatment plans based on patient assessments. Dental Hygienist Requirements Valid dental hygienist license in the state of practice. Proficiency in using dental software (Dentrix preferred). Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and infection control practices.
