Job Overview Olson Dental Care (Bloomington, MN) is immediately seeking a part-time or full-time dedicated, professional, and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our growing general-family dental practice (flexible make your own schedule available). As a dental hygienist you will work with our two wonderful hygienists to help our practice continue to promote ongoing preventive dental care to our patients more effectively and efficiently. Olson Dental Care is a private owned family clinic with two full-time doctors, and a small supportive staff. We have no ridged production goals and offer a flexible schedule with a fun, friendly, laid-back environment. Not paid on production! flexible schedule! You pick days and times for your work week. Responsibilities Perform adult and child dental cleanings, Root Planning and Scale procedures. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions to inform treatment plans. Take dental imaging such as X-rays while adhering to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and treatment options provided by doctors after exam visits Maintain accurate and detailed medical records and charting using electronic dental record (Softdent, Dexis) Ensure compliance with HIPAA privacy regulations to protect patient confidentiality. Support infection control measures by following sterilization procedures and maintaining a sterile, clean, safe and organized clinical environment (OSHA). Collaborate with team members to deliver comprehensive general dentistry services focused on optimal patient outcomes. Multitasking and ability to help coworkers in other areas of clinic responsibility when needed may be expected. Such as answering phone, turning over another room, seating patents, monthly equipment maintenance, recall and retention calls to patients…. Qualifications Valid licensure as a Dental Hygienist MN Proven experience in dental office settings Proficiency on dental software systems, clinical charting and computer-based programs Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and infection control standards. Ability to perform vital signs assessment accurately and handle medical imaging procedures effectively. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations, medical records management, and medical coding practices. Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate patients clearly and compassionately about oral health care.
