Missouri Dental Hygienist License Position Summary Watson Pointe Dental is seeking a personable, organized, and dependable Registered Dental Hygienist to join our team. The ideal candidate is committed to providing excellent patient care, maintaining high clinical standards, and educating patients on their oral health. This position plays an important role in supporting the doctor with diagnosis and treatment planning while providing comprehensive preventive and periodontal care to patients. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Prepare patients and treatment rooms for hygiene procedures. Review the daily schedule and patient charts and participate in daily team huddles. Update patient records and medical information as needed. Take and display appropriate radiographs and intraoral photographs in accordance with practice protocols. Perform dental prophylaxis. Perform periodontal scaling and root planing. Apply sealants when appropriate. Administer local anesthesia when indicated and permitted by applicable regulations. Apply chemotherapeutic agents when indicated. Provide fluoride treatment and other preventive services. Educate patients regarding oral hygiene, periodontal health, recommended treatment, and home-care instructions. Support the doctor by identifying areas of concern and assisting with patient education regarding recommended treatment plans. Encourage appropriate patient referrals and help maintain strong relationships with patients. Thoroughly document treatment, oral tissue findings, patient concerns, education provided, pending treatment, and recommended follow-up care in the patient chart. Follow established infection-control, sterilization, and clinical safety procedures. Properly disinfect, maintain, and restock treatment rooms and equipment. Maintain a clean, organized, and patient-ready clinical environment. Participate in staff and departmental meetings and assist with maintaining an efficient hygiene schedule. Required Qualifications Current and active Missouri Dental Hygienist license. Knowledge of dental hygiene procedures, periodontal care, and infection-control standards. Ability to accurately document clinical findings and treatment. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Personable, professional, and comfortable communicating with patients. Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative dental team. Dependable and committed to maintaining a clean, organized clinical environment.
