This full-time faculty role offers the opportunity to shape the next generation of dental hygiene professionals through engaging classroom, laboratory, and clinical instruction. In this role, you will collaborate close with faculty, staff, and our on-site dental clinic to deliver high-quality education aligned with accreditation standards while fostering student success, professional growth, and community impact.
Minimum Qualifications Required:
Bachelor's degree in Dental Hygiene, Education or related science.
Note:
Degrees and hours must be from a college accredited by a United States Department of Education accepted accrediting agency such as SACSCOC . Clinical practice experience in Dental Hygiene in a dental office setting. Current unencumbered Dental Hygiene license (RDH). Current CPR certification. Evidence of continuing education requirements to maintain RDH licensure. Understand and be committed to the unique nature and role of the college.
Preferred Qualifications Preferred:
Teaching experience in a dental hygiene or related field. Experience in a classroom, lab and clinical instruction. 3+of professional dental hygiene practice Membership in the American Dental Hygienists' Association (ADHA). Current Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) or willing to obtain.
Essential Duties Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Teaching and Learning:
Deliver engaging classroom, lab and clinical instruction aligned with program outcomes and CODA standards. Create a supportive learning environment that promotes student success and retention. Supervise and evaluate students in clinical and pre-clinical settings, providing meaningful, real-time feedback. Track student progress, maintain accurate records, and assess learning outcomes. Demonstrate current dental hygiene techniques and best practices.
Curriculum Development & Program Development:
Maintain and update course materials to reflect current industry trends and accreditation requirements. Contribute to continuous program improvement and accreditation efforts. Assist in developing new courses and learning experience aligned with workforce needs. Recommend equipment, materials, and instructional resources.
Advising & Mentorship:
Advise and mentor students on academic progress and career pathways. Support student development in professionalism, ethics, and lifelong learning. Engage in college-wide advising initiatives. Professional Engagement Maintain active licensure and certifications. r Participate in professional development, conferences, and continuing education. Stay current with emerging trends in dental hygiene and education.
Service & Community Engagement:
Participate in department, division, and college committees. Support community outreach and program promotion efforts. Build and maintain relationships with clinical partners and advisory boards.
