In this role, you will deliver exceptional patient care by providing thorough dental cleanings, patient education, and preventive treatments. Your expertise will help promote optimal oral health and foster positive patient experiences in a welcoming environment. The ideal candidate is energetic, detail-oriented, and committed to maintaining the highest standards of infection control and patient confidentiality. Duties Perform dental prophylaxis, including scaling and polishing teeth to remove plaque, tartar, and stains. Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs and medical history reviews. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) using dental imaging equipment while ensuring proper safety protocols. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and treatment options to promote lifelong dental health. Assist with chairside procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort. Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix), documenting treatment details thoroughly. Follow infection prevention protocols, including aseptic techniques and sterilization of dental instruments and equipment. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by maintaining patient confidentiality at all times. Support the dental team with administrative tasks such as reviewing medical records, managing documentation review processes, and assisting with medical coding when necessary. Collaborate effectively with dentists and other team members to deliver seamless patient care in general dentistry and pediatric dentistry settings. Experience Proven experience as a Registered Dental Hygienist in a busy dental clinic or healthcare environment. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dental care. Hands-on experience with dental equipment, X-ray machines, and electronic health record systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Familiarity with pediatric dentistry practices is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for working with children is a plus. Demonstrated ability to perform patient care tasks efficiently while adhering to infection control standards. Excellent communication skills for client interaction, education, and team collaboration. Knowledge of healthcare infection prevention and control practices, including aseptic techniques and sterilization procedures.
