Job Summary Join our dynamic dental team as a Registered Dental Hygienist, where your expertise will elevate patient care and promote optimal oral health. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive dental hygiene services, assist with patient assessments, and support the delivery of high-quality general dentistry. Your energetic approach and attention to detail will help create a welcoming environment for patients of all ages, including pediatric populations. You will work closely with the dental team to ensure infection control standards are maintained and that patient records are accurately documented in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Responsibilities Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing, to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Conduct initial patient assessments by taking vital signs, medical histories, and documenting medical imaging results. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and preventive care tailored to their individual needs. Assist dentists during procedures such as examinations, restorations, and other general dentistry treatments using four-handed dentistry techniques. Review and update medical records accurately within electronic medical record (EMR) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Ensure strict adherence to infection control protocols, aseptic techniques, and sterilization procedures to maintain a safe clinical environment. Support pediatric dentistry cases by applying specialized techniques for young patients and managing their comfort effectively. Skills Proficiency in dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology relevant to dental care. Experience with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for documentation review and medical coding. Strong understanding of infection control standards and aseptic techniques essential for patient safety. Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently during various dental procedures in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of pediatric dentistry practices and experience caring for pediatric patients preferred. Excellent patient care skills with a compassionate approach to diverse patient populations. Familiarity with HIPAA regulations ensuring confidentiality of medical records and patient information.
