Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Dental Hygienist to join our vibrant dental team! In this vital role, you will provide exceptional preventive dental care, educate patients on oral health practices, and assist the dental team in delivering comprehensive treatment. Your expertise will help ensure our patients enjoy healthy smiles and positive experiences during their visits. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where patient care and teamwork are at the forefront of everything we do. Responsibilities Perform dental prophylaxis, including cleaning, polishing, and fluoride treatments to promote optimal oral health. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) using dental x-ray equipment, ensuring accuracy and patient safety. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions to inform treatment planning. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to foster long-term dental health. Assist the dentist during various procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and comfort. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records and documentation within electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Follow infection prevention protocols, including aseptic techniques and infection control measures, to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff. Monitor and operate dental equipment properly, ensuring all tools are sterilized and maintained according to healthcare standards. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by maintaining patient confidentiality and safeguarding sensitive medical information. Support the overall workflow of the dental office by managing appointment scheduling, patient flow, and assisting with administrative tasks as needed. Qualifications Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current CPR certification. Proven experience in general dentistry or pediatric dentistry settings preferred. Proficiency in dental terminology, medical terminology, and understanding of dental equipment operation. Experience using EHR/Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for documentation review and management. Strong knowledge of infection prevention management, aseptic techniques, and healthcare infection control standards. Ability to perform dental x-ray procedures accurately while ensuring patient safety. Excellent client communication skills with a compassionate approach toward patient care—especially with pediatric patients when applicable. Knowledge of medical coding related to dental procedures is advantageous. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and professionalism. Pay:
$63.00 - $70.00 per hour
