Job Description
One patient at a time. No assisted hygiene model. No clocking out if patient cancels/no-shows. We don't double-book. Not on busy days, not when we're behind, not ever. It isn't a perk — it's how this practice is built, and it's why this is an unusually good place to start a hygiene career. We also do not make you clock out if patient no-shows. This is a long term relationship we're trying to build here, not a transactional one. About us Pinecone Dental Care is a boutique private practice restorative practice on SE Cesar Chavez Blvd in SE Portland. Dr. Zhu trained at the University of Michigan and has completed hundreds of hours at the Kois Center. We practice adhesive biomimetic dentistry — conservative, evidence-based, unhurried. Our patients come to us because they want that, and they stay. The work Our hygiene protocol combines ultrasonic instrumentation, refined hand scaling, and air polishing with modern low-abrasive powders. If you trained on GBT principles and never got to practice them on a real schedule, this is that job. If you didn't, we'll teach you. New patients get two full hours, Recall is always one. Your first comprehensive exam will not be a scramble, and neither will your hundredth. Schedule Three days per week, Wednesday ~ Friday . No evenings. No weekends. No Holidays. No clocking out if patient cancels. Compensation Starting at $50.00 per hour plus the following, effectively >$60/hour including the employee benefits. Health insurance premium paid in full by the practice after 90 days. Employer funded HSA contribution 401(k) after one year — 100% match on your first 3%, 50% on the next 2% Paid sick time accruing from day one Paid vacation: 1 week from year 1, → 2 weeks at year 3,→ 3 weeks at year 4 and beyond All major holidays off. Who we're hoping to meet We're looking for someone careful, curious, and genuinely warm with patients, who wants to become excellent and understands that takes a few years. We aren't looking for speed. New graduates are encouraged to apply. So are hygienists a year or two in who feel rushed where they are.
